From the airport to Leiden
If you are flying to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, the easiest way to travel to Leiden is by train. The airport includes an underground railway station, with frequent services to Leiden (as final destination, or en route to The Hague/Den Haag and Rotterdam). From the airport to Leiden Central Station takes 15-20 minutes. The trains leaving Schiphol for Leiden CS usually depart from platforms 5 and 6 (near the Burger King) and runs almost once every 15 minutes.In case you have euro coin change it is easy to buy a single ticket to Leiden Central at one of the yellow and blue ticket machines. If you do not have euro coins, you can either use a bankcard with the 'maestro' logo on it or you buy a ticket at the ticket counter (with a 50 cent surcharge).

Once in Leiden
MEARC is at easy walking distance from Central Station. The walk will take about 10-15 minutes [directions from Google maps]Taxis and buses are located just outside the Station, to the left and right respectively. Take bus 30 to Paterstraatje, or bus 48 or 49 to Noordeinde.
By car
A4 motorway - exit 7 - signs to 'Leiden Centrum'. At the end of the Lammenschansweg cross the bridge (Jan van Houtbrug) and go left onto the Jan van Houtkade. At the end go left, cross the bridge and go right. You are now on the Witte Singel. Or: A44 motorway - exit 8. Follow the Plesmanlaan straight to the Morssingel.On all routes to the University buildings you will find signs to car parks. The most convenient ones are located at the Haagweg (Euro 5 per day) and the Maliebaan (University car park). The walk from the Haagweg to the University buildings on the Witte Singel takes about 10 minutes. If you need to go to the city centre, a free shuttle bus will take you there from the Haagweg parking.
