...Door de explosief groeiende economie in het Oosten zullen in 2020 naar verwachting 100miljoen Chinezen een buitenlandse reis maken. Velen voor de eerste keer. Het oude Europais - na Hong Kong en Macau - de populairste bestemming. En Europa ziet ze graag komen.Alhoewel de Chinese toerist gemiddeld nog slechts 500 euro per maand verdient, geeft hijper tripje ruim 1650 euro uit aan designtassen, horloges en zelfs diamanten! Hoe zorgen weervoor dat de Chinees die Europa bezoekt zijn geld uitgeeft in Nederland en niet aan de voetvan de Eiffeltoren, de Big Ben en het Colosseum?...

...De Oeigoeren in de Chinese provincie Xinjiang kwamen deze week in het nieuws na etnischeonlusten, waarbij officieel meer dan 150 doden en honderden gewonden vielen, maar waarschijnlijkzijn die getallen hoger.In GMNL gesprekken met o.a. Susanne Kamerling die voor Clingendael onderzoek doet naaretnische minderheden in China, de Nederlands-Chinese hoogleraar Peter Ho, en deskundige op hetgebied van migratiestromen in China, Ruud Bosgraaf van Amnesty International en CDA kamerlidCoruz, PvdA kamerlid Martijn van Dam, correspondent Wouter Zwart in China.De aanleidingHet conflict ontstond in een heel ander gebied van China, waar gevechten uitbraken tussenOeigoeren en Han-Chinezen na een gerucht over een verkrachting van een Chinees meisje doorOeigoeren. Hierbij kwamen Oeigoeren om het leven, en dat was de oorzaak van de rellen inXinjiang. Een van de problemen bij de Oeigoeren is dat ze verdeeld zijn in wat ze willen: een deelwil onafhankelijkheid, anderen willen gewoon meer rechtsgelijkheid. Er is een politiek leidster die inhet buitenland woont: Radya Kadeer.XinjiangDe Turkse achtergrond van de Oeigoeren en de Centraal-Aziatische Islamitische landen waaraan hetgebied grenst, maken Peking nerveus. Ook de enorme olie- en gasvoorraden in de provincie zijnvoor de Chinezen van groot belang. De energievoorraad is hard nodig om de huidige snelleeconomische groei van China mogelijk te maken en in stand te houden. Veel mensen in hetbuitenland, ook Nederland, weten niet eens dat er meer minderheden zijn, (behalve Tibet), die doorChina worden onderdrukt en waarop de verplaatsingstactiek op wordt toegepast...
